Course app v1.0.2¶
For everyone: what changed in this release of the course app. Released 2026-10-04.
Highlights¶
Onboarding for students moving over from Moodle, an email log with an admin copy setting, an unsaved-changes guard with clearer error messages throughout, and a round of UI polish — a branded sign-in, the programme's full name shown consistently, each portal's own colour, and layout fixes across Students, Assignments, the dashboard, Profile and Users.
Features¶
- Onboarding existing Moodle students: a CSV import page and a per-student dialog let staff carry over a student's completed levels and lesson progress, flagged as carried over; earlier assignments can be marked "Completed on Moodle", optionally with the original file attached. Staff can type a password for a new account or leave it to be generated.
- Email log: an admin-only page listing every email the platform has sent, with filters, a plain-text view, and the ability to retry a failed email.
- Copy emails to: a setting that sends a hidden copy of every student email, and one copy per announcement, to an address staff choose.
- Every editing dialog now warns before discarding unsaved changes, and page forms warn before the browser tab is closed with something unsaved.
- Error messages are shown consistently: a field problem appears under that field, and any other problem appears above the dialog's buttons.
- The sign-in and "choose a password" pages now show the programme's name and branding; each portal — student, faculty, admin — has its own accent colour; the programme's full name appears in page titles and emails.
- The dashboard's "New Announcement" button now opens the announcement dialog directly; the Assignments page groups work by level with an ungraded count for each; the Profile page is laid out like the rest of the site; the Users page's "New user" button sits with the search box.
- The New student button is now full-size, like Import students, and the student import page has added help text; the dashboard's New Content action is now Manage Content; the PDF viewer's page buttons are centred over the page.
